The Rydalmere FC have added further depth to their backline for next season with the signing of speedy back/center mid Paul Zacharia on a four year deal from 2012.
Zacharia has made a name for himself as a clean sheet/defender in the competition, having notched 20 goal savers in 142 soccer matches throughout an 10-year career with the Castle Hill United (2002-09) and Rydalmere FC (2011).
The 21-year-old will join other rydalmere fc extensions players Elie Faraj, Thomas Rizzo, Besart Haliti, Rahman Grylls in competing for spots in the outside backs next season along with the likes of existing flyers Edwin Tran, Haag, Charbel Basha.
Rydalmere FC Managing Director Basha said Zacharia would add further versatility to a backline which has already shown its utility value this season with examples such as Tran, who has played at goalkeeper and regarded as the best.
“With Justin Doueihi & Asib retiring, we had the option to look at a speed player that could add some support in the backs and we felt that Paul was a suitable replacement given he can play sweeper, right back and in the centre mid,’’ said Basha.
